
Calspan has a rich history in transportation safety research. Starting with occupant safety and vehicle dynamics, Calspan has expanded its expertise to many aspects of transportation research and is constantly thinking about how to make every journey a safer one. From the seat belt to the crash test dummy, Calspan has pioneered many lasting safety innovations. Calspan is currently conducting a cargo theft prevention study for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and is performing work for the Transportation Research Board's Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2). SHRP2 is the most ambitious naturalistic driving study ever performed
